Creating Circles in Studio and Specials of the month.

Hi amazing Heritage Makers!
Today I have fun news! Not only is club priemer sale and Valentines day sale going on, the HOME ALONE specials are in full effect!  -the leaders are away on their yearly Top Achievers Club trip to Mexico!   This is your week to take action and call me to take advantage and get going on your projects in the new year!  The timing is right, right now!

Tip #5
This question came in from Tamara! Thanks for the question!
“How do I make a cirlce with a photo or background embelishments?”
-You will need to start with a square.  If you have a rectangular piece you will need to use the crop tool (in your tool box) to produce a square.  Then click on your effects in your tool box and type in the number 1000 next to the slide bar for Round Corners.
If you are having trouble with this feature please let me know!

Happy Heritage Making!!

Tips to a GREAT 2010

fun front to frame and/or/with calendar on the back
fun front to frame and/or/with calendar on the back

Hi everyone! This project was fun to do! I actually took pictures from an email that was forwarded to me.  I loved the little sayings on it about making 2010 a great year.  I put these pictures along with the sayings on a 5 panel fold and placed a calendar on the back with special sayings at the end.  I can’t wait to get it!!!! I will carry it in my purse everywhere I go and maybe even hang it by my desk so I will feel motivated and laugh off the stress!   Not much stress when it comes to Heritage Making!     Happy storybooking!  www.storybookcoach.com

Holiday Card, done.

In under 30 minutes, not to bad if I do say so myself.  As Grant napped and owen built his fireman station, I created, published, addressed and sent 130 cards! take a peak.    http://www.heritagemakers.com/projectBrowserStandAlone.cfm?projectId=1166923&productId=68&projectSponsor=199703

Scan in Scrapbooks

Do you want to archive your hard work? Do you want to make duplicate copies of your scrapbooks?  All your effort and just one copy with no insurance?   I can help.   I can scan in  your scrapbook pages.   You can ghen keep them in your electronic files if you ever need them or you can publish them and make duplicate copies.   Here is an example of one of my favorites.

Clara had met me 3 years ago at a park. She took my information, inspired, she took scrapbooking classes and put together 2 scrapbooks of her Dad’s family.  Two years later she contacted me and wanted to know if I would be able to scan it in for her so she could make holiday presents for everyone.  She said, “I would rather give them one of these than a piece of furniture.”  So we met the next day and I started scanning.  When the scanning was done we created some extra pages in her digital storybook so she could put udated information in as well as we took some of the scrapbook scanned in pages and added pictures and text to it digitally.  the book turned out amazing!   Enjoy!

Law of Time and Pressure - I am back!

The Law of Time Pressure
By Brian Tracy

There is never enough time to do everything but there is always enough time to do the most important
things. When you find yourself under pressure to get a job done by a particular deadline, you are
forced to be vastly more efficient than you would ever be if you felt that you had ample time. This
explains why so many people get the job done only when they are faced with stringent deadlines.

Parkinson’s Law
Parkinson’s Law says, “Work expands to fill the time allotted for it.” If you have two hours of work
to do and an entire day in which to do it, the work will tend to expand gradually, and will take you
all day long to complete the two hours of work.

Reverse Parkinson’s Law
However, the reverse is also true. It is “Work contracts to fill the time allotted for it.” Use this
law by setting deadlines for yourself that force you to complete the task far sooner. Continually
analyze your work and focus your attention on completing your most important task, the task that
represents the most valuable contribution you can make, on schedule, if not before.

Here are four questions you can ask yourself every day to keep yourself on your most important
tasks:
1. What are my highest value activities? What are the things that I do that contribute the
greatest amount of value to my work?
2. What are my key result areas? What are the specific results that I have been hired to
accomplish?
3. Why am I on the payroll? Why do they pay me money at my job? What specifically have I been
asked to do?
4. What can I, and only I, do that, if done well, will make a real difference? If I don’t do
it, it won’t get done. But if I do it, and I do it well, it will make a significant contribution to
my work and my life. What is it?

At any Given Time
There is usually only one activity that represents the highest and best use of your time. Your job
is to identify it and then to throw your whole heart into getting it done quickly and well. Create
your own “forcing system.” Set specific deadlines for yourself and then resolve to get the job done
well ahead of schedule.

Action Exercise
Identify your most important tasks, the tasks that represent the most significant contribution you
make to your company. Resolve to work exclusively on those tasks before you start on anything else.
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.  The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” Winston Churchill
