Workout #4 for an at home business mommy

What a long title=)!  How are you feeling this morning?

Since we are talking about workouts and doing activities I thought I would honor the upcoming sports season! Tis the season!  If you haven’t been to our template gallerey yet you have to check it out for all the sports projects they have completed that you can just modify and customize to fit your teams image.   Template Gallerey       So digitally scrapbook your team’s season and save ToNs of money and time.  Quick idea. open one account for the team and have everyone log into the same account to load their photos all into the same spot!  If you are deciding to make team cards out of the decks of cards here is a website you can go to for the Lanyards

Now for the workout.   We have worked on lower and upper body so far.  It is time to work specifically on stomach. I like to work with a ball that i can throw to my kids as i do a sit up, or have them sit on my feet, or give them a high five as i make my way up after another sit up.  Have them cheer you on and they can practice counting with you!   Make a goal for yourself and work your way up to do a couple sets.   I LOVE This one:   on your hands and knees, back flat, stomach tucked in, lift your right leg (like  a dog would=)  and lower and lift and lower,  do this 20 times with each leg. Next put your leg out beside you at a right degree angle and push it out behind you and bringing it back to a right angle. Try and keep your knee and foot in line with your back. 20 times with each leg…. your not done yet.  If you need some motivation.. have your child lay on the floor close to you and lift your leg over them and have them help you count… lift your leg at a right angle, keep your knee in one spot and kick your foot out toward your shoulder or towards the head of your body.  THIS ONE IS A BUTT BURNER…yep.. 20 times to start.  Make it your goal to get up to 40 each time.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!  Just give it a try and see how you do!   Do as many as you can, if that is only 3, that is great, build from there.  I like to add this workout on to any other work out I do.

Each time you do a little more movement with your body you will feel stronger and want to do more activities that will get your heart pumping. I would love to hear your ideas about what to do with your kids.  I once new a girl who was a leader at Stroller Strides.  Stroller Strides is a fun place to meet people with an exercise focused on you but with your kids.  Find one in your area and get movin this spring!

Workout #2 and #3 Mommy with at home business

Hi Everyone,

I am glad I am sitting right now; it is nap time, at least for my 19mth old.  My legs are so soar from two days ago that in order for them to feel half way decent I had to do lunges today to pick up toys!   What is a lunge?  (I don’t even know if I am spelling it correctly, but, what it is:  Take one large step with one foot out in front., Lets say your right foot.   Keep that leg’s knee above that leg’s foot and lower your body to the ground.  I wish I could draw it for you… maybe i will start posting pictures of the positions.  Lowering yourself slowly as you count 1, 2, 3, your left leg should stay straight out and behind you, when you get to 4 the left leg’s knee should be just about to the ground but not touching.  Bring yourself back up…(of course with the toy, or shoe, or spahgettie noodle from lunch that the dog hasn’t gotten too yet, that you just stopped to pick up).   Do this repeatedly alternating leg.  Try to do 20 each side 3 times each.  As you get more strength and balance use cans from your cupboard as weights to continue to strengthen.

What was workout number #2?  I call it Soups UP!  Upper body workout

In order to make a good o’l can of soup you will need to make sure your kitchen is spick and span=)….Set your timer for 25min.  Ready set GO!

First 5min… Run around the house playing tag with your kids -teach them strategies around the table… (I am sure they already figured this one out)  Keep your stomach muscles tight and your back and forth motion will help strengthen your center.    During tag let the water in the sink run till it is hot; get your bucket and a good rag ready to go.   Now… on your hands and knees and scrub your floors with all your might!!!  No more mops!  Do as much of the floor as you can! Break a sweat!  I dare you! Keep your stomach muscles tight and your back flat!   Then hop up quick on your feet and put some warm water on your stove top and then back to the floor for more scrubbing!  Then quick back up on your feet and SCRUB with all the energy you have left.  Now if your house isn’t as messy as mine then you will have to find something else to scrub=) the fridge, the sink, the bathtub, the front entry way, walls, the base boards, the backs of our dinning room chairs….(little slimy fingers are always touching those trying to get out!)  (Get your kids involved, hand them a rag and let them “race” you)

Ding… timer just went off.  Why do I call it soups up? I think it is because what is left in my bucket from scrubbing would look like my homemade soup if I attempted to cook.  (I am a terrible cook) =).

So now I am taking a little break and wanted to do something fun.  The kids are warn out as well and not begging me for attention so we all sit down with our own projects.   Since my body is aching to move I know I can still use my fingers to type and design on my computer.

Check out my latest project… course these pictures are from 7 years ago=)    but it was fun and easy.   AND I am so excited about this!  I found  Beginner Spanish Flash cards! I am totally swapping out a few pics and publishing them for my kids and I! Can’t wait to get them!  Thank you to whomever made them!

Heritage Makers Costumer support

Heritage Makers Customer support is AMAZING!!!!  I am sending out postcards but I didn’t have enough postcards in my account to use.   I called customer support and they traded in some of my other credits and put them towards my postcards!  This was awesome because I didn’t have to put any more money into it!  I had already purchased some other projects that I wasn’t going to be able to complete and traded them towards by post cards!

Customer support has always been incredibly resourceful and helpful!  Anytime I have questions while I am designing I can just call them. If there is something funky going on like having a hard time logging in or I want to check on my order I can just call them. They are fantastic and so happy on the phone. It is not common you get a happy customer service person.

We also have a live chat feature in your ‘my studio’ account.  You can click on this and you will be connected immediately with someone at the home office via live chat.  I love this resource and it has saved me tons of time on the phone especially when I don’t have cell reception.

If you can’t get a hold of me call the home office for help.  Their phone number is 1-866-694-3763  or 1-866-my heroes

New design studio tutorials.

NEW TUTORIALS
We are building a library of “how to” tutorials on how to use Studio. So far, the following videos have been uploaded to YouTube:

1) Create a free Heritage Makers account

2) Activating your Heritage Makers account

3) Starting a project with a template

4) Upload photos to your Studio account

Each video features a “step-by-step,” “show as you go” format which should be helpful to new clients and consultants as they become familiar with Studio. We will be placing buttons linking to these tutorials within the Studio editor and in the knowledge base so they will be accessible to users. Look for demonstrations on other topics in coming months!

Workouts for At Home Business Moms

Okay, So I haven’t posted in a LONG time.   Not sure why I haven’t posted but I just haven’t.  Well, I am back and I promise to be consistent and fun!

Confession:  I haven’t worked out for about 5 years, seriously.  I want to get back in physical shape, feel good and confident about myself and appearance all while keeping up with my kids.  I wanted to conserve money all while having fun and being a stay at home with a business.

Plan:  Each day while the kids eat breakfast I am starting up the treadmil..yes I am still in my pajamas at this time.. and running for 5min.  That’s it.  Then it is the real “go” time.  Speed Cleaning! yes you heard it. Speed cleaning for the next 20min while the kids finish eating and start playing.  Here’s the burner….ANYTHING you pick up off the floor has to be in “Squat” format.. No more bending over ladies! You must keep your knees above your toes, push your butt out and down to the floor, as low as you need to go to pick up.      The amazing thing is at least the floor of your house is clean for you to do part 3 of your workout at home:

Part III - Drool Down

Cool down, possibly called Drool Down.    By this time your kids have already put all of their toys that you have picked up back on a different floor -you can repeat step 2 at anytime through out the day =) -  usually about 4 times=)

Lay on your back with knees up.  Your child can sit on your shins, grab tight to his/her feet and bounce your feet up and down.  Your child will love it and you will finish burning off those last night’s “one more cookie” before bed and you will be spending amazing fun time with your kids.    You can do this with infants on up.  Lay your babe on their stomach on your shins head facing you. You grab their hands, do a half crunch as your hands rest on either side of your babe and slowly raise your feet up and down.   It will also help your babe with strengthening their neck muscles.

Get creative, have fun with it and do the same activities your kids do.  I challenge you to do everything your toddler does for 10 min.   Let me know if you were able to keep up!

Make sure to take your before and after pics so you can create your before and after storybook!!!
